I am associate professor in cultural and media studies in the Department of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’, after teaching the same subjects at the University of East London and the University of Essex, UK. I am the author of Network Culture: Politics for the Information Age (Pluto Press 2004), and have written since many essays on topics relating to the development of digital media networks. I sit on the editorial boards of journals such as Theory, Culture and Society; New Formations; Subjectivity; Fibreculture; and Studi Culturali. I am a member of the free university network Euronomade, of the financial coop Robin Hood and of the Technoculture Research Unit at L’Orientale. My research interests lie in the area of digital media, network science, politics, technoscience and technoculture, Marxism, feminism, poststructuralist philosophy, and cultural studies. I am currently writing a book on social networks for University of Minnesota Press.
